I've noticed that too. Was looking for the same thing, and was surprised (I generally just look at American) that JFK to LHR flights are as much as the Miami to London flights -- yes, right at $900....

Have you tried Virgin Atlantic? I tried a couple of random dates near the end of May, and it popped up fares as low as $740. That's without the Edinburgh piece. A little better, maybe?

But China wasn't that BEFORE taxes and fees? I found as low as $711 on Virgin, but with taxes it was $877. When it was $740 without taxes (which I also found), it was again over $900 with.

will do, though I was hoping to avoid a layover. It turns out I have enough Continental miles to cover the one-way trip. Have to look into what it will cost me coming back the other way.
